- Describe results of using HBV core antibody-positive donors in HBV-immune and HBV-naïve recipients including protocols for use of HBIg and antiviral medications in the peri-operative and post-operative period.
- Identify emerging infections (influenza, West Nile virus, Zika, etc.) and risk of transmission via solid-organ transplant.
- Identify endemic infections that may be present in donors with exposures in and out of the US (Chagas, TB, strongyloides, Coccidiomycoses, Histoplasma) and understand the role of screening of selected donors.
